We Are Better Together
“Each of you has been blessed with one of God’s many wonderful gifts to be used in the service of others. So use your gift well” (1 Peter 4:10 CEV).
God keeps bringing the phrase back: “We are better together.”
When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within us and gives us one or more spiritual gifts. One of mine is “giving.”
Romans 12:6-8 says, “Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; 7 if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; 8 or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness” (NASB).
Giving to others is one of my greatest joys! In particular, God uses this gift to prompt me to give Bibles to children and adults.
There are so many ministries in need of monetary donations, volunteers to serve, material resources to be donated, etc. If God has given you the gift of “giving”, you probably want to support them all! I do, too.
Realistically, we are somewhat limited as individuals. However, God is not limited.
The Bible says, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17 ESV).
Yes, we are “better together” when we are working in God’s will and when Jesus is helping us bear good fruit.
Our ladies’ Bible study group was able to come together to gather shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse’s “Operation Christmas Child” ministry. Our small group used the “better together” motto to join in filling and donating shoeboxes to bless children around the world.
It’s a simple idea of filling a shoebox with toys to show God’s love and opens the door for children to hear the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Samaritan’s Purse reports that “Operation Christmas Child”, since 1993, has collected and delivered more than 135 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories!
It’s an amazing ministry and I invite you to check the link to get more information about how you can join with others to impact the lives of many children who need to know Jesus.
National Collection Week is November 12-19th. Check the website for drop off locations.
Thanks for your consideration.

Where might God have you join with others to enlarge your territory for his kingdom purposes?
“And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my [a]territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested” (1 Chronicles 4:10 NKJV).
It’s all about Jesus! To God be the glory!
Blessings and love, Gayle
